Porsche Unveils the Electrifying Macan GTS — A New Benchmark in Luxury Performance

Porsche has officially unveiled the Macan GTS Electric, the most driver-focused member of its all-electric SUV line-up -combining sports car agility with SUV practicality and cutting-edge EV technology.

Positioned between the Macan 4S and the flagship Macan Turbo, the new GTS offers an intoxicating blend of power, precision, and everyday usability. Prices start from £89,000, marking it as one of the most compelling performance SUVs in the luxury EV segment.

Electrified Performance, Engineered for Emotion

Under the bonnet -or rather, beneath the floor -the Macan GTS is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 509bhp, rising briefly to 563bhp through launch control.

That’s a striking 129bhp and 299lb ft of torque more than the most powerful petrol-powered Macan ever produced. Borrowing the rear motor from the range-topping Turbo model, Porsche has tuned the GTS with a distinct rear-drive bias, enhancing driver engagement and balance through corners. 

Precision Handling and Performance Dynamics

To ensure it lives up to the iconic GTS badge, Porsche engineers have fine-tuned every detail. The Macan GTS features: 

• Electronic rear differential for improved cornering precision
• 48:52 weight distribution for optimal balance
• Recalibrated dampers and anti-roll bars for sharper dynamics
• Custom traction and torque vectoring systems

The result? A drive that feels connected, responsive, and unmistakably Porsche.

The GTS also rides 10mm lower than standard Macan Electric models, keeping the centre of gravity low and stability high. And while it may be silent, Porsche ensures emotion isn’t lost -the GTS comes with a bespoke performance sound profile designed to heighten the sensory experience.

Rear-axle steering is available as an option for those seeking even greater agility in tight urban settings or enhanced stability at speed.

Uncompromising Power and Range

Despite its focus on driving feel, the Macan GTS Electric is nothing short of blistering. With launch control activated, it accelerates from 0–62mph in just 3.8 seconds, beating the Macan 4S by 0.3 seconds and sitting only half a second behind the Turbo.

Top speed stands at 155mph, while 0–124mph is dispatched in 13.3 seconds — a clear statement that performance remains at the heart of Porsche’s DNA.

The GTS draws power from the same 100kWh battery used across the Macan Electric range, offering up to 363 miles of range on a full charge. With 800V charging technology, it supports up to 270kW rapid charging, meaning a 10–80% charge can be achieved in just 21 minutes under optimal conditions.

Visually, the Macan GTS asserts its presence through subtle yet powerful styling cues. Black exterior detailing, wider side skirts, and re-sculpted front and rear aprons distinguish it from its siblings. 

It rides on 21-inch alloy wheels as standard, with 22-inch options available for those wanting an even bolder stance. Every design choice serves a purpose — to enhance both aerodynamics and aesthetic refinement.
